Our Story
We began as a wish, a prayer of a desperate mom who was told by doctors that her 5 year old child would never recover from a sickness that caused severe muscle weakness. After treating him with antibiotics, he was discharged from the hospital unable to walk, sit up or move his head or arms; he was in a state of paralysis, and his pupils were rolled to the top of his eyes. In desperation, the mother began to massage her child's toes daily and continued to pray. Despite what she was told, she refused to accept that her son would never walk again. After two weeks, she began to see changes the doctors told her would not happen. He began to wiggle his toes and move his feet. His eyes began to look normal. For the first time in over a month, signs of hope began to emerge. He became stronger with each passing day and grew into a strong, healthy and thriving young man who barely even catches a cold, and enjoys walking everywhere.
Today, we honor the determination and belief of that desperate mother. Sohmaz, which symbolizes the body's innate healing power, was founded by that devoted mother as a testament to the dedication and care that every individual needs when they are on their healing journey. Recovery requires more than just knowledge, and medicine; it also requires faith and intuition.
